Paper
The Paper Division has been active on the market since 1873 under the Perlen Papier name, and is Switzerland's only producer of newsprint and magazine paper and the country's biggest waste paper recycler.
The Swiss market leader for publication paper products
Perlen Papier operates two paper machines with a combined annual production capacity of 560 000 tonnes of newsprint and magazine paper at its Perlen production site. The PM7 machine, which came into operation in 2010, is the most advanced in Continental Europe for newsprint production.
Perlen Papier also maintains a waste paper sorting facility in Utzenstorf, and is Switzerland's only paper recycler. Up to 500 000 tonnes of recovered paper, most of it from Swiss domestic sources, are reprocessed each year into newsprint and magazine paper.
Perlen Papier was founded at its present location in 1873. The company's production today is virtually carbon-neutral.
