Perlen Packaging unveiled the world’s first-ever single-use powder inhaler for individual doses earlier this year. The PERLAMEDTM BLISTair incorporates two thermoformed barrier films that protect the active substances. The two films completely envelop the powder; and, thanks to their funnel shape, they serve as the inhaler, too.

Three packaging awards?

The totally new dosage delivery system has greatly impressed the industry, not just through its innovative design but also by virtue of its lower production costs compared to multi-dose alternatives. The BLISTair has already earned three packaging distinctions: the CPhl Pharma Award, the German Packaging Award and the Central Switzerland Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Innovation Award.
