CPH raises forecasts

FuW: The industrial group expects sales of well over 700 million Swiss francs for the current fiscal year and is therefore raising its forecast.

CPH Chemie + Papier Holding is raising its forecasts for the 2022 financial year, with sales now expected to be well over 700 million Swiss francs and an operating result in the triple-digit million range. On the occasion of the Investor Day in September, only an increase in sales as well as an Ebit and a net profit in the high double-digit million range were forecast.

The increased sales forecast is based on higher selling prices as well as a good order situation, the company said Wednesday. All business areas would show "encouraging" growth rates for the full year.

The company expects the biggest growth to come from its paper division, which could reach sales of around CHF 400 million in 2022. Ebit in this business unit is expected to be in the high double-digit million range. As the operating results of the Chemicals and Packaging divisions should also be in the double-digit millions, the Group expects an overall Ebit of over CHF 100 million and a net result in the region of CHF 100 million, barring any unexpected factors.

However, the sharp rise in energy costs is putting a spoke in CPH's wheel on a planned project. In the summer, CPH had announced that it would supply energy and water to the fiber insulation board production plant planned by Schilliger Holz AG in Perlen. However, this project could now not be carried out because of the high energy costs.
