Perlen, 15 December 2021 – In his 25 years of board service, Franz-Josef Albrecht was pivotal in shaping and guiding the development of the CPH Group. Dr. Albrecht was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of off-exchange Perlen Holding AG in 1992. In 1997 he took over as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CPH Chemie + Papier Holding AG, and subsequently merged the company with Perlen Holding AG. And in 2001 CPH’s shares gained their listing on the Swiss Stock Exchange.

Under Dr. Albrecht’s 18-year chairmanship the CPH Group set several key courses, built its two PM 4 and PM 7 paper machines and developed its firm and clear focus on its three business divisions of Chemistry, Paper and Packaging. Dr. Albrecht handed over to present CPH Board Chairman Peter Schaub after the 2010 Annual General Meeting, and stepped down from the CPH Board in 2014.

Franz-Josef Albrecht died on 11 December at the age of 73. The CPH Group offers him its deepest thanks for the valuable times it shared with him, for his ever-prudent leadership and for his visionary skill.
